American Royal Art Show
May 1-2, 2009
The American Royal Art Show and Sale returned to the American Royal Complex in May, 2009. A gallery style show, sale, and auction featured western painting, photography, drawing, and sculpture from 40 artists representing 14 states from across the United States.
Guests of the event viewed almost 100 pieces of fine art including work from feature artists Marlin Rotach and Harold T. Holden. The Royal hosted a Preview on Friday, May 1st and a Kentucky Derby Gala & Auction on the 2nd. Wil Jenny's served the 'best mint juleps West of Lexington' and a fare to rival any Derby party. Patrons viewed the 135th Annual Run for the Roses before participating in the live art auction. Proceeds from the show will benefit the American Royal Association Scholarship Fund.
