  • The World Series of Barbecue is an all ages weekend event. Friday night hosts the biggest party of the year and some tickets (Party of the Year) require attendees be 21 or over. Saturday is family friendly!
  • Friday – children’s tickets will be available for pre-purchase and at the door. Children must be under 12 in order to use a children’s ticket. Anyone found over the age of 12 using the children’s ticket will be charged the full amount per ticket at walk up price. Children under 5 are free.

  • Teams host families, friends and colleagues in their team spaces on Friday night for events and parties. Entry into these spaces are at the discretion of the team.
  • If you do not have a team space to join, the event will have live music, beer/cocktail garden, fireworks and other events in the public activation area, west of the team spaces, to enjoy the activities of Friday night.
  • The World Series of Barbecue competition is NOT a food sampling event. This event is a barbecue competition for teams from around the world. Teams/Tents will not provide samples to the general public.
  • Other food and beverage will be available for purchase at the event (cash and/or credit).
  • If you would like to try competition BBQ you can apply to be a BBQ judge. Applications will be open in April and judges are selected on a first come/first serve bases. CLICK HERE to learn more.

The World Series of Barbecue is the largest barbecue competition in the world. We will host more than 500 teams from more than 10 countries. This not only a wonderful competition, but also the largest fundraiser for the American Royal and the proceeds of this event go back to our mission for educational events in agriculture and scholarships.

  • Yes, you must have your ticket to enter the grounds. When you purchase your ticket online through E-tix you will be sent an electronic ticket. You may either print this option or bring your ticket, electronically to the gate.
  • If you purchased VIP Parking or RV Parking, your ticket will not be included in your email. Your vehicle pass will be mailed to you, to the shipping address provided, prior to the event.
  • All vehicles will park on the West side of the track.
  • Take I-70 to exit 410 onto 110th Street. Head West on Speedway Boulevard and enter the track via France Family or Darlington.
  • Do not take 435 to State Ave. This will cause you to be backed up in traffic.
  • General Parking is $20/per vehicle – CASH ONLY and will be located on the West side of the Speedway.
  • VIP Parking and Preferred spots are available for purchase.
  • It is recommended to arrive early on Friday to avoid traffic.
  • A map will be available on our website prior to the event that shows transportation routes and parking lots to use.
  • ADA parking will be available. Please purchase gate entry ticket prior to arrival for ease of transportation into the venue.
  • Trams (limited) will be available at a designated tram stop to bring attendees into the infield.
  • If you are bringing a stroller, it is advised that you pre-purchase your tickets and ride the tram into the infield.
  • Weapons of any kind are prohibited
  • Security checks will be at the doors to check bags
  • No live animals, except aides to persons with disabilities are allowed at any time
  • Golf carts, motorized coolers, 3 or 4-wheelers or motorcycles. Rickshaws, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, Segway’s, hover boards and bicycles are also prohibited
  • Drones and/or any flying objects are prohibited
  • Alcohol is not permitted through gate entry
  • Single day and weekend entry tickets grant access onto the Kansas Speedway grounds. Included in the ticket price: Friday night- Entertainment on the Main Stage, access to the food, drink and merchandise vendors to purchase and fireworks at the end of the night. Saturday –“Heroes on Display” Events, entertainment on the Main Stage, access to the food, drink and merchandise vendors to purchase, BBQ giveaways throughout the day, kid friendly activities, and access to watch the 2023 Barbecue Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
  • There are different ticket options available for specific VIP experiences.
  • Gates open Friday at 3:00pm and Saturday at 11:00am.
  • Parking not included with single entry or weekend wristband ticket.

  • The World Series of Barbecue place on the infield of the Kansas Speedway. General Public parking is located outside, on the West side of the Speedway. The main entrance into the infield is through the main gates, down the stairs of the Speedway grandstands.
  • It is not the easiest area to traverse for guests with disabilities but we do our best to make it as accessible as possible.
  • Designated handicap parking spaces will be available in the ADA lot in the General Public Parking lot and ADA compliant vehicles will drive guests from the parking lot into the inside of the Speedway to a drop off location. There will not be additional ADA/Transportation provided inside the event.
  • Families with strollers/young children are advised to purchase tickets in advance and ride the tram into the infield.
