There have been a few personnel changes over the years, but the lineup includes guitarist Cliff Gall, drummer Jack Ackerly, and vocalist Tom Rush – also members of the alternative rock cover band Last Bus To Mars. Guitarist & keyboard player Tim Duncan and bassist Wayne Swisher round out the barbarian horde. Members of the group have shared the stage with the likes of Bobby Keys (saxophonist of Rolling Stones’ fame) and Shawn Pelton (Saturday Night Live’s drummer and “first call” studio recording artist). The Old Barbarians first appeared at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue in 2012 when they helped team Hawg Pen (former American Royal Grand Champions) take home the coveted “Party of the Year” banner. They’ve been playing Hawg Pen’s soiree every year since. “We are proud to be a part of the American Royal tradition and are particularly thrilled to perform on this year’s main stage.. even if we’re still recovering from the previous night’s party extraordinaire.”
