Angus Juniors Show at the 2011 American Royal

KANSAS CITY – Mark Ebeling of Cleburne, Texas, evaluated the 2011 American Royal Junior Angus Show. Entries from 11 states showed in 13 classes on Friday, Oct. 28.

The Grand Champion Angus Female of the Junior Angus Show was Silveiras Elba 0521, shown by Clayton Stevenson of Brenham, Texas. She is sired by BC Lookout 7024, and first won Champion Senior Heifer Calf. Michelle Keyes of Springfield, Neb., exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion Female, Bear Mtn Royal Pride 0126, sired by PVF ALL Payday 729. Keyes first won the Junior Heifer division.

The Champion Junior Heifer Calf, EXAR Blackbird 1462 was exhibited by Karisa Pfeiffer of Orlando, Okla. This female is sired by Dameron First Class. The reserve female is in the same division was KTT Kasey D11, a daughter of MCC Cupid 414, shown by Katlyn Tunstill of Fayetteville, Ark.

AE Savannah 9310, led by Amy Emberson of Nowata, Okla., claimed the Reserve Champion Senior Heifer Calf honors behind the grand champion entry. Emberson’s heifer is a C4D Conqueror 8612 daughter.

In the next division, Burns Elba X105, sired by EXAR Spartan 6225, won Champion Intermediate Heifer in the junior show. She is owned by Jennifer Hager of Stafford, Kan. Miss Velvet 0859X claimed Reserve Champion Intermediate Heifer honor. She is sired by SAV Bismarck 5682, and was led by Harrison Holder of Olustee, Okla.

Ayres Alexenia 440, led by Trista Bates of Manhattan, Mont., was named the Reserve Champion Junior Heifer behind the reserve grand champion female. Bates’ female is a daughter of Ayres Montana Upgrade 248.

In the senior heifer division, McCurry Miss Wix 9081 won champion. She is a daughter of Marands M-W Assassin 518, and was led by Jackson Wingert of Ottawa, Kan. AVF Sara 4719 claimed the Reserve Champion Senior Heifer. She is sired by SAV Net Worth 4200 and was shown by Cody Theis of Leavenworth, Kan.

The American Royal, Kansas City’s longest running show, has been a Kansas City tradition since 1899.
