Maine Anjou youth exhibitors vie for top honors at American Royal

KANSAS CITY- On Oct. 28, the American Royal hosted the junior Maine-Anjou and MaineTainer shows. Brent Murphy of Houstonia, Mo., evaluated the cattle that participated in these events.

MaineTainer Junior Show Results

The Grand Champion MaineTainer Female was also selected as the Summer Champion Female, Miss Daisy 123X, a May 2, 2010 heifer, owned by Halley Becking of Florence, S.D. The Reserve Grand Champion MaineTainer Female was also the Junior Heifer Champion, Miss Sophie 7X, an April 15, 2010 heifer, owned by Chyann Smith of Storm Lake, Iowa.

Grand Champion MaineTainer Female Junior Show was Miss Daisy 123X shown by Halley Becking of Florence, S.D.

Reserve Grand Champion Junior Show MaineTainer Female was Miss Sophie 7X shown by Chyann Smith of Storm Lake, Iowa.

Junior Calf Champion MaineTainer Female was LSCH Miss Independent, an April 22, 2011 calf, exhibited by Adam Olsen of Huntsville, Texas. Reserve Junior Calf Champion MaineTainer Female was Miss Maine Curly Sue, born on March 21, 2011 and shown by Cody Duhaime of Allerton, Iowa.

Selected as Senior Calf Champion MaineTainer Female was Rebecca Moore of Madill, Okla., with LNL Xanthic 0028 born on Sept. 16, 2010. MMMF Allie 040X, a Sept. 2, 2010 female, owned by Leighton Robbins of Lavernia, Texas, was the Reserve Senior Calf Champion MaineTainer Female.

Reserve Summer Champion MaineTainer Female went to Rachael Carlson of Plattsburg, Mo., with RRRC Miss Resolution 110, born on May 6, 2010.

LDSC Magic Maid 410X, born on April 10, 2010, exhibited by Mary Spencer of Gibbon, Neb., was Reserve Junior Heifer Champion MaineTainer Female.

Maine-Anjou Junior Show Results

The Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female was the Summer Champion Female, CRLL Jessica 11X, born on May 5, 2010 and exhibited by Jordan Crall of Albia, Iowa. Reserve Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female honors went to the Junior Heifer Champion Maine-Anjou Female, GOF Xanadu 363X exhibited by Mitchell Udell of Sioux City, Iowa. She is a March 3, 2010 female.

Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female Junior Show was Jordan Crall of Albia, Iowa with CRLL Jessica 11X.

Reserve Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female in the Junior Show was Mitchell Udell of Sioux City, Iowas with GOF Xanadu 363X.

The Junior Calf Champion Maine-Anjou Female was VCL Ms Bojo 151Y, born on April 20, 2011 and exhibited by Stephanie Kersten of Gretna, Neb. Reserve Junior Calf Champion Maine-Anjou Female also went to Stephanie Kersten with LKC Minnie, a Jan. 2, 2011 heifer.

BNWZ Miss Cool 97X born on Nov.7, 2010 was named as the Senior Calf Champion Maine-Anjou Female. Miss Cool was shown by Harley Sargent of Denison, Texas.

Madison Loschke of Carbondale, Kan., exhibited the Reserve Summer Champion Maine-Anjou Female, MINN Tina 10X, who was born on May 6, 2010.

Reserve Junior Heifer Champion Maine-Anjou Female went to Becca Chamberlin of Winchester, Ind., with Miss Dottie, an April 16, 2010 female.
