Passion, Drive, Dedication, and Swag = Junior Heifer Showmanship!

October 29, 2011

Overall Champion Showman and Division III Champion, Jacob Heimsoth

“Mom, I’m so nervous!”

“Honey, it’s only because you care. You know that you put your time, hard work, and heart into making that heifer the best that she could be.  Now go out there and show her off!”

That was the typical pep talk from my mother when showing cattle.  Today’s Junior Heifer Showmanship exhibitors were no different.  They all were dedicated to making the judge, Josh Worthington of Dadeville, Mo., turn his eye their way. Today’s contest included three different divisions ranging from ages 8 to 20 years of age.

Overall Champion Showman was Jacob Hemisoth of Lathrop, Mo., age 17.  Heimsoth was also named the Division III Champion. Jamie Limes of Risingsun, Ohio was the overall Reserve Champion Showman and Division III Reserve Champion.

Division I Champion was Cale Hinrichson of Westmoreland, Kan., age 12. Tanner Walden of Tonganoxie, Kan., age 11, was the Division I Reserve Champion.

Allee Louise Maronde of York, Neb., age 13, was the Division II Champion. Division II Reserve Champion was Katlyn Tunstill, age 16, of Fayetteville, Ark.
