Competition is high in the Angus ring

This morning, Angus enthusiasts started their day with the Junior Heifer Show. Judge Mark McClintock of San Angelo, Texas, started by choosing CCC Sara’s Dream 5116 shown by Austin Nowatzke of Michigan City, Indiana, as the Grand Champion Junior Female. Reserve Grand Champion was Dameron Northern Miss 505 shown by Paige Lemenager of Hudson, Illinois.

As the day continued, Judge Harlan Yocham of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, came into the ring to judge the Angus Super ROV Show. Yocham started by using Sankeys Arkdalepride 606 owned by Sankey’s of Council Grove, Kansas, as his Champion Junior Heifer Calf. His reserve was EXAR Princess 6151 owned by Austin Nowatzke of Michigan City, Indiana. Champion Senior Heifer Calf was PF Miss Holly of 414 owned by Hudson Myers of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Reserve Senior Heifer Calf was WCC Conley Bar Maid 599 owned by Whitney Walker of Prairie Grove, Arkansas. EXAR Winne 5794  owned by Sydney Schoor of Chowchilla, California, was the Champion Intermediate Heifer and reserve was Champion Hill Georgina 8872 owned by Lydia Dance of Hillsboro, Ohio. Champion Junior Yearling was Conley Sandy 5104 owned by David Smith of Boulder, Colorado, and reserve was KDJ Queen Ruth 502 owned by Maddy Udell of Sioux City, Iowa. The last division of the day was Champion Senior Yearling Heifer won by Silveiras Saras Dream 4540 owned by Case Wilson of Bowdon, Georgia, and reserve was PVF Frontier Gal 4181 owned by Kayden Nowatzke of Michigan City, Indiana.

Clinching the title of Grand Champion Female was Smith and Reserve Grand Champion was Udell, both coming from the Junior Yearling division.

Yocham finished his day out by choosing his Grand Champion Bull Dobson First Class 5500C co-owned by Thompson Livestock of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Griswold Cattle Co. of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Dobson Ranch of Kaw City, Oklahoma. Reserve Grand Champion Bull DAJS Special Effects 044 owned by Payton Herzog of Robinson, Texas.
