Bringing a Set of Fresh Eyes to Hale Arena

October 28, 2017

Dustin Frank of Nebraska and Mark Johnson of Oklahoma were first-timers to evaluate stock at the American Royal.

Frank sorted the open show, which included Mainetainer and Maine-Anjou bulls and heifers. Johnson judged the junior show of heifers.

Frank resides in Chappell, Nebraska, and has judged at the American Royal while on livestock judging teams in college, but stepped foot in Hale Arena for the first time on his own.

Johnson is also a first time judge for the show. He resides in Orlando, Oklahoma, with his wife and daughters and operate J and J Cattle Co. He coached the Livestock Judging Team at Oklahoma State University for 20 years and is now an animal science professor at OSU.
