Boots & Business After Hours
November 18, 2016
The American Royal Boots and Business After Hours signified the official kick-off of the American Royal season. This year on September 6, over 300 business and industry leaders from across the region gathered at The Gallery in the Kansas City Power and Light District to celebrate the future of agriculture.
During the program, the 2016 class of Royal Scholars and Bayer Veterinary Scholars were recognized and guests had the opportunity to hear each Royal Scholar describe their aspirations for future careers in agriculture and see a sneak peek of the new American Royal website and mobile app. Royal Scholars travel to the American Royal in Kansas City for Boots and Business and again during the 117th American Royal season to participate in School Tours, PRCA Rodeo, and Youth Leadership Day.
Launched in conjunction to the start of the 2016 Season, the new American Royal website reflects the fresh, recently developed new brand of the American Royal and strives to deliver an informative, easy to navigate look at the large variety of agriculture events and education programs that take place each year. In addition to a new website, a new mobile app was also revealed. The app features breaking news notifications, a full events schedule, a personalized itinerary generator, camera and frames for social media posting, maps of the American Royal Complex, and an interactive BBQ Teams map for the World Series of Barbecue®. Throughout the season the website and mobile app were in constant evolution and will continue to provide increasingly more value to our constituents. The American Royal App is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
Throughout the programming, attendees took “boot selfies” at the Bayer Boots Selfie Station, posted their pics on the Bayer Beef Post Facebook page, and voted for their favorite boots. At the end of the evening the Best Boots in KC were announced. Congratulations to Michelle Roberts, our Best Boots in KC winner. All proceeds from the event benefited the American Royal’s mission to impact the future of agriculture through competitive learning, scholarships, education, and agriculture events.
