Junior swine exhibitors from eight states gathered in Kansas City, Mo., to compete for top honors in the American Royal Pedigreed Gilt Show held on Sat., Oct. 22. The judge, Everett Forkner of Richards, Mo., sorted the 48 entries and Logan Fuller of Emporia, Kan., exhibited the Supreme Champion Pedigreed Gilt. His gilt, born April 2, was first named Champion Duroc Gilt.
The Champion Berkshire Gilt, exhibited by Maddie Fugate, of Mahomet, Ill., was born April 25. Megan Mench of Shirley, Ind., exhibited the Reserve Champion Berkshire Gilt, born May 23.
The Champion Chester White Gilt, exhibited by Khyleigh North, of Wolcottville, Ind., was born March 3. The Reserve Champion Chester White Gilt, born March 1, was exhibited by Cody Iberg of Highland, Ill.
Ethan Frantz of Hillsboro, Kan., exhibited the Reserve Champion Duroc Gilt that was born March 26.
The Champion Hampshire Gilt, born April 9, was exhibited by Dylan Cain of Chariton, Iowa. The Reserve Champion Hampshire, exhibited by Austin Kindschi of Orlando, Okla., was born March 21.
Levi Logue of Liberty, Ind., exhibited the Champion Landrace Gilt that was born April 14.
The Champion and Reserve Champion Poland China Gilts were exhibited by Kristin Critten of Gallatin, Mo., and were March 24 littermates.
The Champion Spotted Gilt exhibited by Porsche Watson of Sperry, Okla., was born March 2. The Reserve Champion Spotted Gilt exhibited by Bo Smith of Park Hill, Okla., was born March 27.
The Champion Yorkshire Gilt exhibited by Taylor Crouch of Tipton, Ind., was born March 2. The Reserve Champion Yorkshire was exhibited by Peyton Hill of Nevada, Texas, and was born March 13.
