At the American Royal we are committed to providing a high-quality event and safe experience for our constituents.

Due to recent announcements regarding enhanced COVID-19 restrictions, and a number of other factors, we have decided to reschedule the American Royal Youth Rodeo and ProRodeo to early May 2022.  A spring rodeo will allow for a more enjoyable experience for contestants, organizers, public attendees and local students who have historically joined us for the rodeo.

Thank you for your support of the American Royal. We look forward to an exciting fall season of events and a successful spring rodeo.

1.)      What if I have already bought a ticket to the Pro Rodeo?

All refunds will be issued by Ticketmaster. If you paid by credit card the refund will be automatically applied back to your account. Cash purchases will need to be refunded in person. For customer service please contact 1-800-653-8000.

2)      Will you have a spring and fall rodeo in 2022?

The American Royal will most likely only have one rodeo per year.


The American Royal Rodeo is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA). Members of these associations can compete in the rodeo by entering.


Cowboys and cowgirls across the country are trying to make it to the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) held in Las Vegas in December, based off of the money they have earned during the season. This makes the American Royal Rodeo an important stop for the contestants to earn more money.


$40,000 is up for grabs at this one up, three day rodeo! $5,000 will be awarded in each event.
