2011 ~Royal Breeders Bull Classic~

October 28, 2011

Ten years ago, the Missouri Charolais Breeders Association created the Royal Breeders Bull Classic. Their goal was to encourage Charolais Breeders to attend the American Royal and bring their best bull to compete for the title of Overall Grand Champion.  If you are selected as the Overall Grand Champion, you receive a cash prize and the Royal title.  The unique thing about this program is that you are not placed by a paid critical eye of a judge. You, yourself, judge the animals.  You have the opportunity to become a Classic Club member by paying a membership fee, being a Charolais breeder and showing up to judge.  By being a Classic Club member and showing up to offer your opinion, you are entitled to 10 straws of semen from either the Overall Grand or Reserve Champion Bulls.

This year, the Overall Grand Champion Bull was WC CCC Full MetakJacket 1127 PET, 1/20/2011, Sire: WC-WCCC Rocketfuel 7109, owned by Wright Charolais and Cody Cattle Company of Richmond, Mo.  The Overall Reserve Grand Champion was RF X-Rated 073 P, 09/25/2010, Sire:MEAD-RF X-Factor G548P, owned by Ridder Farms of Hermann, Mo.  In third place was BJCF Permanent Mark X85, 09/19/2010, Sire: HAMM Mogo U23, owned by Bar J Charolais of Liverpool, Texas. Rounding out the top five was HPF CM Firebreak 104, 1/24/2011, Sire: TRMR Fire Water 5792RET, owned by MDL Farms of Joy, Ill., and CCR Fortunate Sun 48P, 0/05/2012, Obgce Beam 8213, owned by Cut Creek Ranch of Carthage, Mo.
