Dr. Scott Schaake of Manhattan, Kan., sorted the Open Percentage and Purebred Simmental bulls on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Hale Arena at the American Royal. There were 33 entries shown by exhibitors from across the United States.

BF Mr Confidence, shown by Russ and Barb Ruth of Rising City, Neb., was named Grand Champion Percentage Simmental Bull, he is sired by SVF Steel Force S701. He was first named Champion Junior Bull. The Reserve Grand Champion Percentage Simmental Bull, GTWY Center Stage 37X, is owned by Gateway Genetics of Albion, Neb., he was named Reserve Champion Junior Bull earlier in the day. Center Stage is sired by SVF Star Power S802.

BF Mr Confidence, shown by Russ and Barb Ruth of Rising City, Neb. was selected as the Grand Champion Percentage Bull.

GTWY Center Stage 37X, is owned by Gateway Genetics of Albion, Neb. was named Reserve Grand Champion Percentage Bull.

VPF Core Frat Boy, led by Jason Ver Ploeg of Pella, Iowa was named Champion Percentage Junior Bull Call. He is sired by Sandeens SOS. Winning reserve in the same division was NFF Chester Y052, sired by 3C Macho M450 BZ, and owned by Nelson Family Farms of Mabel, Minn.

Champion Percentage Senior Bull Calf honors went to single entry, SC Look Me Over X106, owned by Shoal Creek Land and Cattle of Excelsior Springs, Mo.

SC NV’s Magnitude W34, owned by Shoal Creek Land and Cattle was named Champion Percentage Senior Bull. Magnitude is sired by O C C Magnitude 805M.

In the purebred Simmental show, SS/PRS High Voltage 244X was named grand champion. He is sired by HTP/SVF Duracell T52 and is owned by Hartman/Conley Cattle of Tecumseh, Neb. CMFM Imagine That 17X took home the Reserve Grand Champion Purebred Simmental Bull award. Imagine That is sired by Westfall Voyager 721P and is owned by Circle M Farms of Rockwall, Texas.

SS/PRS High Voltage 244X was named Grand Champion Purebred Bull.

Champion Purebred Spring Bull Calf was awarded to Dream Come True Y20, owned by WAGR Dream Catcher 03R. He is sired by Madyson Thill of Pleasantville, Iowa. JKV The Right Time was awarded Reserve Champion Purebred Spring Bull Calf. The Right Time is sired by HTP SVF In Dew Time and is owned by Jason Ver Ploeg.

SVJ Lizzie’s Power Y32, sired by BMR Explorer, was named Champion Purebred Junior Bull Calf. He is owned by SVJ Farm of Amity, Pa. Reserve Champion Purebred Junior Bull Calf, MR CCF Kriegers Target, owned by Anna Krieger of Universal, Ind. He is sired by BB Barack 1017T.

The Reserve Champion Purebred Senior Bull Calf, GCF Grindstone X171, sired by F Nichols Muhammad, was exhibited by Grindstone Creek Farms of Sturgeon, Mo.

Long’s Steel Shot, exhibited by Tyler Long of Creston, Iowa, was named Reserve Champion Purebred Junior Bull. He is sired by SVF Steel Force S701.
